www.archive.org/download/pokerpodcast02/show02pokerpodcast_21-5-2005_48kbs.mp3

Its mentioned in the show (edited badly by me) but around the 45 minute mark a skype call to my brother only picked up my side of the conversation, please forward past it if its really boring.....special bonus points though if you can guess who we are talking about.

Enjoy, and please leave comments or drop me an email if you have anything to say

Show #2

Finally, I get chance to record a second show. Just putting the finishing touches to it (well, trying to figure out how to add an intro to make it sound just a tad more professional)
Should be available on your ipodder by tomorrow night.

Thankyou archive.org

bandwidth issues seem to have been fixed, ipodders should be able to download once again, I hope it doesn't download again for everyone, if it does, my apologies, the name had to be changed slightly to conform to archive.org's standards.

Bandwidth!

well who would have thought it......my isp has suspended by website for bandwidth abuse! apparently loads of people tried to download the show last night and that closed my account. So I'm currently in the process of migrating to another host provider (which will probably be archive.org)
will keep you posted.

Nik

Update - 9am GMT rss feed changed to reflect archive.org directory structure, just awaiting confirmation that its been accepted. Should be this afternoon UK time

Delays......

okay, okay, so I've been trying to do the second show for a while now, but having a young family is the priority, so good weather means much swings and roundabouts at the park and tropical garden tours.....

please bare with me, it should be recorded and posted this week....

Next installment.......

Had some great ideas today for the next episode, will definitely be recording it this weekend, and going to try and get my brother involved on the commentary via skype (if he's available), also less of the 'whats happening' as oppose to whats going on in my head.............

my setup

for the curious out there, my only setup requirement for recording this podcast was a £4 gaming mic form game.com and a copy of Audacity. I recorded both the mic and system sounds as they were produced and compressed using the lame codec at 128kbs.
If anyone can shed any light on how to adjust the recording levels so I don't get too many annoying beeps when I have '60 seconds to call that would be great. The only thing I did post-production was normalise the audio to limit the maximum -dB, as it was really squeeky beforehand.

I would also welcome any feedback from those that have taken the time to listen to this production, I'm aware that it needs a lot of work but its my first attempt I wanted to get it out there as is, worts n' all!. pokerpodcast@gmail.com
